Job Title: 100% Remote Pharmacist Job Description The Pharmacist performs comprehensive final prior authorization reviews and ensures safe, compliant medication use in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations. This role focuses on clinical and regulatory accuracy, supports medication therapy management activities, and maintains meticulous records for controlled substances while working in a fully remote environment. Responsibilities Perform final prior authorization (PA) reviews with a high level of accuracy and attention to clinical detail. Comply with state and federal drug laws and regulations as set forth by the State Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Monitor nursing unit inspections and ensure adherence to medication storage and handling standards. Maintain complete and accurate records for controlled substances in accordance with regulatory requirements. Identify, remove, and document outdated, expired, or damaged medications from pharmacy inventory. Supervise and review the work results of pharmacy support personnel to ensure quality and compliance. Maintain current pharmacist registration and licensure in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy. Stay informed about existing and new pharmacy-related legislation and regulatory changes. Anticipate potential legislative impacts and advise leadership on necessary actions and policy updates. Support medication therapy management (MTM) activities as needed, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Perform accurate and timely data entry related to prior authorizations, prescriptions, and pharmacy records. Collaborate effectively in a remote setting, following established workflows and documentation standards. Essential Skills Active Pharmacist License in one or more of the following states: Oklahoma (OK), Indiana (IN), Kansas (KS), Pennsylvania (PA), Georgia (GA), or New Mexico (NM). Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree. Demonstrated experience performing prior authorization reviews in a pharmacy or clinical setting. Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, including DEA and FDA requirements. Proficiency in pharmacy data entry and maintaining accurate medication and controlled substance records. Ability to supervise and review the work of pharmacy support personnel. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance. Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with medication therapy management (MTM) services. Remote or telepharmacy operations. Strong analytical skills to interpret legislation and regulatory updates. Effective written and verbal communication skills for advising leadership and collaborating with team members. Comfort with using pharmacy-related software and electronic health record systems. Work Environment This is a 100% remote position that requires a dedicated, quiet, and secure workspace at home suitable for handling confidential health information. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend coverage as part of the regular shift pattern. Work is performed using computer-based pharmacy systems and electronic documentation tools, with an expectation of reliable internet connectivity and professional conduct in a home-office setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Florida City, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
