Department Overview: The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics is an academic department that serves approximately 20 faculty members, 10 staff members, and hundreds of students. The department is located at Taylor Hall, 427 Lorch St. Anticipated Start Date: August 15, 2026 Anticipated End Date (If Applicable): Remote Work Eligibility Detail: Partially Remote Anticipated Hours Per Week: Minimum: 8 Maximum: 12 Schedule: We anticipate approximately 8 to 12 total hours of hybrid work per week, with responsibilities including: 4-6 hours supporting and planning our community events including English Corner (on-site at Taylor Hall, schedule varies based on events and includes evenings and weekends) 2-3 hours supporting social media (remote work, flexible schedule) 2-3 hours supporting communications such as newsletters, website maintenance, etc. (remote work, flexible schedule) Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum: Minimum: $15.00 Number of Positions: 1 Qualifications: Required Qualifications -Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Evidence of strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. -Availability to work on-site at in-person events. Preferred Qualifications -Prior event coordination experience. -Prior social media or communications coordination experience. -Prior work supporting activities for international students. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : -Advanced English speaker and writer. -Self-motivated and dependable -Service-oriented and proactively attends to the needs of others -Demonstrated time-management skills Position Summary/Job Duties: -Supporting and planning our community events such as English Corner, bowling, and Thanksgiving dinner. -Generating content and posting to social media to further our outreach with current and past students. -Coordinate and write communications such as newsletters, website maintenance, etc. Physical Demands: -Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. -Ability to work in-person at Taylor Hall during events.
