Job Description This is a remote position. Position Title: Accountant Work Set-up: Work from Home Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM PHT Holidays: VIC AU Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Australian Accountant with a strong background in trust returns, company financials, and tax accounting. This role requires expertise in self-managed super funds (SMSFs) and proficiency in key accounting software, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Australian tax regulations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, independent professional with strong analytical skills and excellent English communication abilities. JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ACCOUNTANT Your Responsibilities as an Accountant will be: • Prepare and review trust tax returns, company financials, and individual tax filings. • Handle self-managed super funds (SMSFs), ensuring compliance with Australian regulations. • Prepare and analyze financial statements to support tax compliance and reporting. • Utilize Xero, BGL, MYOB Reporter, and Microsoft Excel for efficient bookkeeping and financial management. • Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting in compliance with Australian taxation laws. • Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize tax strategies. • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and reporting. Qualifications as Accountant: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Australian Accountant. • Strong expertise in trust returns, company financials, and tax accounting. • Experience handling self-managed super funds (SMSFs). • Proficiency in Xero, BGL, MYOB Reporter, and Microsoft Excel. • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal). • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy.
