Accounting Coordinator Full-Time, Permanent 35 Hours per week What We Live By: Our Vision: A community without barriers to health and wellbeing Our Mission: We work with our community to promote and sustain health and wellbeing for all Our Values: Compassion, Social Justice, Courage, Integrity, Adaptability Guelph Community Health Centre prioritizes people who face barriers to health and accessing services, and people who identify as: Homeless or at risk of homelessness Living on low income Newcomers to Canada with language barriers Having moderate to severe mental health and/or addiction issues Having moderate to severe disabilities Indigenous First Nations, Inuit and Métis Black, mixed race and racialized populations Experiencing intersectional oppression 2SLGBTQIA+ Vulnerable children and their families experiencing conflict, isolation or attachment struggles Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting Coordinator will provide accounting and bookkeeping services and assist in maintaining accurate and consistent financial records for the Guelph Community Health Centre. An excellent team player, the successful candidate needs to be service-oriented with a strong background in AR, AP, Bank reconciliation, GL, and account analysis. The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for handling the financial reconciliation, payments, and budget process for GCHC’s p rogram s , maintaining accurate and up-to-date information and reports related to the financial position of the GCHC. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and responsible and has strong organizational and analytical skills. Experience working in a community-based non-profit setting will be considered an asset. This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work in office up to 5 days a week. Principal Job Duties: Perform bookkeeping operations including Accounts Payable , Banks and GL reconciliations. Process accounts payable, expense reports and credit card transactions, Cheques and Electronic Funds Transfer weekly cheque run, aged payable reports, and reconciliations. Perform Bank reconciliation for all GCHC bank accounts and GL account reconciliation as assigned. Chart of Accounts, Vendor and Customer database maintenance. Ensures that all invoices are correctly allocated to appropriate budget lines. Maintain financial files and records. Make recommendations to management for the development and/or revision of policies and procedures. Prepare government remittances and statutory reports and support payments. Support the annual audit process including providing financial schedules. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Post-secondary diploma or certificate in accounting with a minimum of four (4) years similar experience, preferably in the not-for-profit sector. Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience in a non-for profit and fund accounting environment is an asset. Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests and tasks to meet deadlines. Demonstrated experience with accounts payable and accounts receivables processing, bank, and GL reconciliations, preparing financial reports and government filings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to be flexible, a self-starter, and to work with a high degree of efficiency, accuracy, and confidentiality. A positive approach to work and willingness to take initiative, to lend assistance where needed to ensure that the team is successful in meeting department goals. Excellent computer skills - use of accounting software , experience with Business Central is an asset Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office with intermediate MS Excel skills including pivot tables IF’s and L ookup s is an asset .
