About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for a U.S.-based client. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records, manage budgeting and reconciliations, oversee accounts payable and receivable, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. This role also leads and supports an accounting team while delivering timely, accurate financial information that drives business decision-making. This is a remote opportunity based in the Dominican Republic, working closely with international team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Reporting – Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
Accounts Payable/Receivable & Reconciliations – Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including payment processing, collections, invoicing, and account monitoring. Perform and review bank, credit card, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations. Manage the general ledger and ensure proper classification of revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis – Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide recommendations to management. Prepare financial analyses and reports to support leadership with operational and strategic decisions, including cash-flow monitoring and financial planning.
Compliance, Controls & Risk Management – Develop and maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial policies. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Identify discrepancies, accounting issues, and financial risks, and work proactively to resolve them.
Team Leadership & Development – Manage, supervise, and develop members of the accounting team. Review the work of junior accounting staff to ensure accuracy and adherence to established processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Systems – Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax professionals, and other financial partners as required. Support improvements to accounting systems, processes, reporting, and automation.
