Job Summary: An Accounting Operations Reconciliation Manager should demonstrate commitment to delivering distinctive service. This position will be responsible for leading the team that performs daily, weekly, and/or monthly reconciliations of accounts. In this position, the manager will oversee the daily workflow, supervise Accounting Operations Reconciliation Specialists, and be a primary sign-off on reconciliations performed within this area. This position will also be responsible for more advanced daily recons, various month end close tasks and Regulatory Reporting. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide distinctive service to clients and prospects, in person and over the telephone. Respond to client inquiries and satisfactorily resolve client issues. Support firm-wide achievement of the three-ring standard (all phones answered by a live person within three rings). Serve in a leadership capacity, supervising and mentoring team members to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently. Conduct coaching sessions and complete routine human resources-related responsibilities, as necessary. Manage Accounting Operations Reconciliation Specialist team, ensuring daily responsibilities are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Reconcile numerous daily and monthly reconciliations of both general ledger and internal deposit accounts that may be more complex in nature. Review reconciliations prepared by Accounting Operations Reconciliation Specialists and Accounting Operations Specialists, ensuring balances agree to supporting documentation and identifying any stale items. Oversee various accounting functions for bank subsidiaries, to include a variety of bank transactions. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting standards and process. Reporting includes various Call Report schedules, FR Y-9C schedules, the FR Y8, the FR Y-12, and other required filings. Perform research projects to ensure entries are processed properly, ensuring the accuracy of financial and regulatory reporting. Attend and/or complete all assigned training, to include annual Regulatory Reporting training. Participate in conversions/product implementations, to ensure accounting transactions flow through the ledger appropriately. Adhere to internal controls. Use specialized knowledge and experience to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies/procedures to protect the asset quality of the organization and produce accurate and timely financial reporting. Meet all the client's financial needs, both business and personal, and refer clients to other specialty areas such as Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, etc. as appropriate. Assist other team members as needed to ensure delivery of distinctive service. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent -- College degree in accounting is preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in financial services, specifically in finance, accounting, and/or operations. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or related software. Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations and compliance requirements as it relates to aspects of data integrity, security of data, and privacy. Understanding of control measures and requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley. Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills. Solid leadership and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of relevant financial, mathematical, and accounting techniques. Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks. Excellent client service skills. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with both clients and team members. The physical activities of this job include but are not limited to the ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, use of manual dexterity, verbal communication, visual acuity, repetitive motion, and the ability to hear.
