Accounting Evaluation Expert

An established AI research partner is seeking credentialed accounting professionals to serve as subject matter evaluators on a project assessing the quality of accounting work outputs. This is not a production role your value lies in defining standards and applying rigorous, documented judgment to complex accounting deliverables.

$130 $160/hr | Flexible | Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Design task-specific grading rubrics for real-world accounting deliverables including reconciliations, close packages, financial statements and disclosures, technical accounting memos, and audit-ready workpapers
• Score completed work samples against established criteria, producing detailed written justifications that are evidence-based and defensible under peer review
• Maintain scoring consistency across varied deliverables to ensure results are reproducible and calibration-ready
• Apply deep working knowledge of US GAAP to evaluate technical accuracy in month-end close, financial statement preparation, and disclosure requirements
• Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate on grading approach with speed and precision

Core Requirements

• CPA or equivalent professional certification; active or inactive standing considered
• Background in audit, assurance, or advisory at a Big 4 or leading global accounting firm, or in a senior accounting capacity at a large public company
• Demonstrated fluency in US GAAP application across reconciliations, close cycles, financial statements, and workpaper preparation
• Exceptionally strong technical writing ability capable of articulating precisely why a deliverable meets or fails professional accounting standards
• Comfortable operating under structured evaluation frameworks with judgment subject to calibration and peer comparison

Additional Strengths

• Prior involvement in human-data annotation, training evaluation, or structured review projects
• Experience in technical accounting research or memo drafting that required translating GAAP guidance into applied conclusions
