Accounting/Contracts Analyst Intern

Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an Accounting/Contracts Analyst Intern to support financial operations and reporting activities across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial analysis, and business processes within a professional services environment. This internship offers practical exposure to real-world accounting functions. Interns will work alongside experienced accounting and contracts professionals to assist with financial reporting, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives while gaining insight into corporate financial management practices. This internship will be performed in a hybrid telework model, with onsite work at our Reston, VA office as needed. Duties & Responsibilities Assist on preparing Incurred Cost Report Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Collaborate with accounting and finance teams on reporting and compliance tasks Assist with data entry, documentation, and maintaining accurate financial records with a high degree of accuracy Gain exposure to financial systems, reporting tools, and accounting workflows Qualifications Currently enrolled in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related degree program Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data analysis, spreadsheets) Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial data and reporting Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities What Interns Will Gain: Hands-on experience in corporate accounting and financial analysis Exposure to real-world financial reporting and business operations Mentorship from experienced accounting and finance professionals Practical experience working in a professional, team-based environment Insight into financial systems, controls, and compliance practices Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy EEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
