Role Overview

An established UK accounting practice specialising in tailored financial services for legal professionals is seeking a remote Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

You will take responsibility for day-to-day accounting functions, focusing on income and expense processing, bank reconciliations, and VAT management. You will collaborate with internal managers to maintain accurate financial records, ensure tax compliance, and deliver timely monthly outputs under flexible remote working conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process client income and expenditure records using cloud accounting software.
• Perform routine bank reconciliations to ensure accurate general ledger balances.
• Prepare VAT returns and manage Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance workflows.
• Gather supplementary financial documentation and information in coordination with account managers.
• Extract, clean, and format client financial data using MS Excel.
• Maintain digital receipts, supplier bills, and underlying documentation within automated document management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Completed SAICA, CIMA, or SAICA articles.
• Practical proficiency in Xero accounting software and Dext.
• Working knowledge of UK VAT regulations and Making Tax Digital (MTD) frameworks.

Salary & Benefits

• R25,000 – R35,000 CTC per month
