QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or equivalent Generally, a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience 3+ years of relevant acoustic consulting experience (Middle East experience preferred) Demonstrated experience in acoustic measurements (sound level meters, building acoustics test equipment) Strong foundation in acoustic theory and calculations (sound insulation, room acoustics, HVAC noise, vibration isolation) Familiarity with noise and vibration assessment methodologies for the built environment Experience on residential and hospitality projects — from concept design through to completion and testing Site experience is essential: noise monitoring, building acoustic testing, construction-stage inspections IOA Membership or equivalent is preferred. Acoustic modelling software (e.g., ODEON, EASE, SoundPLAN, CadnaA, or INSUL) — preferred but not essential GENERAL EXPECTANCY Significant experience and advanced competencies. Able to work independently on complex tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Acoustic engineering design, advice and technical solutions on different projects Conduct environmental noise surveys on construction sites, existing buildings, and development plots Perform building acoustic testing (airborne and impact sound insulation) to ISO 140 / ISO 16283 standards Carry out acoustic calculations and analysis (sound transmission, reverberation time, HVAC noise, external noise ingress) Prepare noise and vibration impact assessments for acoustic design projects throughout the project life cycle Develop acoustic design strategies and specifications for residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments Review architectural and MEP drawings for acoustic compliance; provide practical mitigation recommendations Attend site visits to inspect constructions, supervise testing, and verify installation quality Liaise with clients, design teams, and authorities to progress acoustic deliverables COMPETENCIES Leadership / Management skills - Responsible for the day-to-day management and optimisation of their teams' operations and performance. Project Management / Operational Delivery - Ability to independently manage the delivery of smaller projects ($50k) in a client facing role. Strong knowledge of technical discipline with experience in executing previous projects to a high level of independence. Leadership / Team Management Experience - Commence taking on elements of team management in sub projects. Demonstrable experience in managing a small team of 2 or more, on live projects, or mentoring junior team members / graduates. Commercial Acumen / Business Development - Manage commercials on project delivery with support from more senior team members. Assist in creation and delivery of proposals. Problem Solving / Decision Making - Coordinating tasks and solving specific problems within the areas of responsibility.
