Position Overview The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program within the College of Health Professions (CHP) at Butler University invites applications for Adjunct Clinical Faculty positions beginning in Spring 2027 (January 2027). We seek experienced registered nurses who are passionate about mentoring future nurses and facilitating high-quality clinical learning experiences in adult and gerontological healthcare settings. Adjunct Clinical Faculty play a critical role in helping students develop clinical judgment, professional identity, communication skills, and safe, evidence-based nursing practice. The BSN program at Butler University prepares graduates for entry-level professional nursing practice through innovative teaching, simulation-based learning, experiential education, and clinical partnerships throughout the Indianapolis region. Key Responsibilities Supervising undergraduate nursing students in clinical settings. Facilitating student learning and integration of classroom knowledge into clinical practice. Promoting the development of clinical judgment, professional behaviors, and evidence-based nursing care. Evaluating student performance and providing constructive, timely feedback. Supporting safe, person-centered care and adherence to professional nursing standards. Collaborating with course coordinators, nursing faculty, and clinical agency personnel. Maintaining compliance with university, nursing program, and clinical agency policies and requirements. Completing clinical documentation, attendance records, evaluations, and grading responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher degree in nursing. Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or eligibility for Indiana licensure. Minimum of three years of recent clinical nursing experience in adult health, medical-surgical nursing, acute care, or a related specialty area. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to student success and professional nursing practice. Appointment Information Part-time adjunct faculty appointment, usually 1-2 days a week depending on appointment. Clinical teaching assignments beginning Spring 2027 (January). Clinical groups consist of no more than eight students. Clinical days are usually 6-8 hours and on weekdays Clinical placements are located throughout the greater Indianapolis area, but no more than one hour from Butler’s campus.
