As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be responsible for the design, development and analysis of static gas turbine engine components. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing strength, fatigue, containment, heat transfer, and various other types of stress analyses. Other responsibilities include test support, communicating with Project engineering teams, resource and manpower planning, conduction of design reviews, presentations to internal and external customers, ensuring proper documentation of work performed and engaging in department process improvement initiatives. The Growth Engine Structures Group within the Component Design & Analysis (CDA) directorate is responsible for the design, development and analysis of static gas turbine engine components. You will report directly to our Mechanical Design Engineering Manager, and you will work out of our Phoenix, AZ on a Hybrid work schedule. Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F. Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classical book calculation methods, & support testing Manpower/task/schedule planning Project Coordination Project and product compliance Risk management Process Development Root Cause and Corrective Action YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics Minimum of 4 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elastic-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methods WE VALUE Practical knowledge of ANSYS finite element analysis software Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems Effectively operate in a matrix organization Track record of successful contribution to products and projects Keen mindset to envision process improvements and execution of such initiatives Excellent written and oral communication skills BENEFITS Beyond a performance-driven salary, you'll work alongside dedicated experts on technology that's advancing aviation.
