Note: benefits eligibility may be based on employment status, tenure, location, or other factors Classification: Non Hourly/Salary Exempt Location: Location: Remote/Field-Based – Central or Eastern United States; Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana preferred Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm Job Summary: The Field Safety Auditor is responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and enforcing safety compliance across construction sites. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and company safety standards, identifies potential hazards, and supports the development of a strong safety culture within civil construction operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct routine and unannounced safety audits and inspections on civil construction sites Evaluate compliance with applicable regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and company policies Identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues; recommend corrective actions Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risk assessments, and improvement plans Monitor implementation of corrective actions and verify resolution of safety issues Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety plans, and permits Support incident investigations and root cause analysis Provide guidance and training to site personnel on safety practices and procedures Collaborate with construction managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to promote safe work environments Supports continuous improvement by following established processes, identifying inefficiencies or issues, and contributing to solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivity. Leverages available tools and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, where appropriate to improve efficiency and streamline work. Managerial Responsibility This role has no direct reports. Travel/Shift Requirements Requires frequent travel. Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds as needed Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when required Must be able to operate a computer and all required programs Skills and Abilities Required Strong attention to detail and observational skills Strong leadership and coaching mindset to influence safe behaviors Ability to identify hazards and assess risk effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and travel to multiple job sites Proficiency in safety reporting tools and Microsoft Office Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in civil or telecommunications infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification Telamon Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
