($58,900/yr) with no experience, up to $39.00/hr. ($73,600/yr) with 10+ years in the same role Hourly role paid bi-weekly Work-Life Balance 36.25-hour full-time work week Flexible scheduling and hybrid work-from-home options 3 weeks’ vacation accrual per year with 1 week allocated immediately upon hire 3 personal days per year 15 sick days allocated upon hire; accrues at 15 days per year after year one with unlimited accrual Outstanding Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; HRA available for those who opt out of medical coverage FREE medical care and prescriptions through Marathon Health Employer-paid life insurance Tuition reimbursement and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility Wellness incentives and a robust Employee Assistance Program Ohio Public Employees' Retirement System (OPERS): 10% employee / 14% employer contribution Advocacy Coordinator A typical day in this role is focused on building advocacy, connection, and community inclusion for people with developmental disabilities. You’ll coordinate trainings and outreach, support advocates and families, partner with community organizations, attend meetings and events, and help identify and address accessibility barriers. You’ll also coordinate events, track advocacy efforts, prepare reports, and share stories that amplify the voices of people served. Each day brings new opportunities to build partnerships and create meaningful avenues for advocacy and participation. Job Duties (Summary): Develop and implement agency-wide education, outreach, and advocacy initiatives for teachers, transition professionals, staff, developmental disabilities providers, families, advocates, and community partners. Provide ongoing advocacy trainings, education, and opportunities that are responsive to the needs of people served and their families; support staff in facilitating and leading trainings. Partner with developmental disabilities providers and community organizations to create regular, person-led advocacy opportunities and increase community awareness of developmental disabilities and the agency’s role. Attend community council meetings, public forums, and events to present advocacy best practices, promote developmental disabilities perspectives, and build community support. Support advocates through personal discovery and connect individuals served with local resources, programs, agency committees, and advocacy opportunities. Monitor local, state, and federal developments affecting people with developmental disabilities and ensure stakeholders have opportunities to provide input and share their perspectives. Coordinate advocacy summits, annual events, seminars, and other educational or community engagement activities, including planning, registration, applications, transportation, scheduling, and documentation. Maintain records of advocacy activities and prepare quarterly trend reports, annual report content, accreditation materials, and community relations summaries. Develop and contribute stories, videos, articles, and other content for the Advocacy Magazine and agency communications. Serve as the primary liaison between the agency and external advocacy organizations and community partners. Identify accessibility barriers and collaborate with staff, community organizations, and committees to develop and implement solutions and communicate proposed interventions. Provide administrative and logistical support to staff, including scheduling, transportation coordination, seminar planning, registration, tracking, and documentation. Performs additional duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in social work, special education, psychology, or related field Three years of full-time paid work experience in programs or services for individuals with developmental disabilities Ability to travel within Hamilton County as needed Must be able to pass criminal background checks , driver's abstract, and various abuser registry checks Work Location: Hybrid locations – work is performed both away from the office and at Hamilton County Central Campus: 1701 Patricia McCollum Way, Cincinnati, OH 45237 The flexibility to work from home is available when job duties allow.
