AI Automation Engineer (f/m/d)

We at DB Dialog are Deutsche Bahn's customer contact centre. We use digital solutions to respond to customer enquiries across all channels – without neglecting the human aspect of communication.

We are looking for you to join the DB Dialog GmbH team as an AI Automation Engineer as soon as possible. In the IT automation team, we master the challenges of digitalisation to accelerate the digital transformation.

For us, the interaction of LLM, Conversational AI and other technologies is all about the holistic and strategic automation of complex processes and supporting the processing of unstructured data. In this exciting environment, you can contribute your knowledge and ideas and work with us on innovative projects.

Responsibilities:

• You will independently analyse, design and develop solutions to automate and optimise processes for rail travellers and DB Dialog employees and support our team in process mapping meetings and the documentation of these
• You will develop customised AI-supported solutions based on established AI-models, business requirements and technical specifications. You will quickly immerse yourself in the specific business areas, maintain an overview and interlink different topics
• Working closely with your specialist colleagues, you will optimise existing processes with your innovative ideas
• For implementation, you will draw on established experience in low-code/no-code development
• You will work on exciting, projects and products across the DB Group, such as automating refund processes. With the involvement of external service providers, you will help to automate tedious, repetitive tasks
• You will work independently in a friendly environment where team members support each other, share knowledge and learn new things together every day
• By actively driving the digital transformation and taking an interest in new technology trends, you will actively help shape the future of the DB customer experience
• You will document work results and systems in the ticketing and knowledge platforms provided (e.g. Jira)
• You are able to communicate technical solutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders without a technical background

Qualifications:

• The basis of your success is a degree in computer science, business information systems, or a similar specialization, or successfully completed vocational training as an IT specialist in application development. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• You will enjoy diving deep into specific projects and leveraging your experience to offer support. You will not only use your theoretical knowledge, but also your practical experience with AI tools and processes, which you will have the opportunity to actively use and develop further with us.
• Logical and analytical thinking with a keen eye for detail help you in process automation
• You are familiar with common AI technologies (large language models, natural language processing, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, conversational and generative AI) and can use them to automate processes
• You have established knowledge of Python, while additional experience with C# or Java is a plus and rounds off your profile.
• Ideally, you have knowledge of MSSQL, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript and are confident working with virtual Windows and Linux environments.
• You are committed, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while continuously adapting to change in short innovation cycles
• You have already worked in an agile environment, are familiar with agile process models not only from textbooks but from applying them in your work, and believe in the agile values (trust, team, inspect and adapt)
• You are willing to travel occasionally to attend meetings and events in Germany, for example at the Berlin office
• You can communicate fluently in German or English in everyday and professional situations. You can effectively explain technical concepts to others. You do not find it a challenge to write and understand professional texts (minimum language skills level B2)
