AI & Automation Solutions Engineer

This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone. Role Overview As an AI & Automation Solutions Engineer , you will support the implementation of AI and automation initiatives across multiple businesses, working closely with leadership, operational teams, and the existing IT department. This is a hands-on role combining AI implementation, workflow automation, systems integration, software development, and business process improvement. You will analyze existing workflows, connect platforms and data sources, build AI-powered automations, The ideal candidate can understand operational challenges, translate them into practical technical solutions, and determine when to use automation platforms versus custom-coded implementations. Location Fully Remote (Work from Home) | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST Key Responsibilities AI Automation & Workflow Development Design, build, test, and deploy AI-powered automations that reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency. Develop workflows and AI agents capable of retrieving, processing, and acting on information across multiple business systems. Automate recurring reporting, data consolidation, and other time-intensive operational processes. Monitor existing automations and continuously improve their reliability, scalability, and effectiveness. Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into established workflows where it can create measurable business value. Systems & Data Integration Develop a strong understanding of existing software platforms, internal systems, workflows, and available data across the organization. Connect systems through APIs, webhooks, databases, and workflow automation platforms. Build integrations that allow data from multiple platforms to work together effectively. Improve access to timely and actionable information across different business units. Work with transportation and logistics systems, accounting platforms, operational tools, and other business applications. Troubleshoot integrations and data flows to maintain reliable connections between systems. AI Engineering & Custom Development Develop custom integrations and AI functionality using Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies when required. Integrate LLMs and platforms such as OpenAI, Claude, or comparable technologies into business workflows and applications. Build solutions using a combination of automation platforms and custom code depending on business and technical requirements. Develop AI-powered workflows capable of processing structured business data and interacting with existing systems. Collaborate with the internal IT team to improve applications and processes through AI and automation. Process Discovery & Improvement Partner with business leaders and department stakeholders to understand existing operational processes. Identify repetitive, manual, or inefficient workflows that could benefit from automation. Translate business requirements and operational challenges into practical technical solutions. Evaluate potential AI and automation initiatives based on business impact, efficiency gains, and technical feasibility. Recommend solutions that enhance established processes rather than introducing unnecessary complexity. AI Adoption & Collaboration Help build an AI-enabled culture by introducing practical tools and use cases that support employees in their daily work. Educate and train employees on using AI to improve productivity, analysis, communication, and decision-making. Support change management and employee adoption as new AI tools and workflows are introduced. Collaborate with leadership, operational teams, and the internal IT department to ensure initiatives align with business needs. Document automations, integrations, workflows, and best practices to support long-term adoption and scalability. Identify additional opportunities for AI adoption based on employee feedback and evolving business needs. Security & Data Management Follow appropriate security, access-control, and data-handling practices when working with company information and systems. Work within established VPN, security, and IT infrastructure requirements. Ensure integrations and automations respect existing organizational security practices. Qualifications Experience 3+ years of professional experience in software development, systems integration, automation engineering, or a related technical field. Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI-powered automations and integrations in real business environments. Experience within transportation, logistics, or related operational businesses is strongly preferred. Experience working across multiple departments, systems, or business units is a plus. Skills Has hands-on proficiency with Python and/or JavaScript and can use code to develop custom integrations or automation functionality when required. Demonstrates strong experience working with APIs, webhooks, databases, and system integrations to connect business applications and automate data flows. Has experience building workflows with n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar automation platforms and can determine when a low-code solution is appropriate versus custom development. Is comfortable integrating LLMs such as OpenAI, Claude, or comparable technologies into practical business workflows and applications. Understands AI agents, workflow automation, and data-processing concepts and can apply them to operational business problems. Has experience working with SQL and structured business data to retrieve, process, connect, and analyze information across systems. Can work effectively with existing CRM, accounting, logistics, operational, or other business platforms when building integrations. Understands appropriate security, access-control, and data-handling practices when connecting systems and implementing automations. Can document technical workflows and explain AI and automation solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. What Success Looks Like A strong understanding of the organization's existing systems, data, workflows, and operational processes is developed. Initial automations are delivered within the first 90 days and reduce manual work and processing time. Data is successfully connected across systems to improve reporting and business visibility. Reliable AI-powered workflows are introduced into employees' day-to-day work. AI tools are adopted in practical ways that improve productivity and decision-making. Collaboration with the existing IT team and business stakeholders is effective. Automation and AI initiatives complement existing processes and organizational culture. Additional high-impact opportunities for automation are continuously identified.
