AI Consulting Architect

We are looking for a Consulting Architect, AI & LLMOps to define the technical standards, guardrails, and operating models that enable AI adoption at enterprise scale. As a Consulting Architect for AI & LLMOps , you will own the technical foundation that makes AI usable at enterprise scale within regulated environments. You will define the reference architecture, establish technical standards, implement AI operational foundations, and enable delivery teams to build consistently against a scalable and secure framework. This role combines hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, balancing innovation with governance, security, and cost efficiency. What You'll Do Own the reference architecture: Model gateway, agent runtime, retrieval and context layer, and the integration patterns into core systems. You hold the technical veto, and you explain it rather than assert it. Build the AI ops foundation: Prompt and evaluation registry, cost and behaviour telemetry, non-human identity and least-privilege access for agents, and guardrails enforced in the pipeline rather than in a policy document. Author the technical guardrails: You write the standards that govern AI use — model guidance by task, data classification rules, the sanctioned tool set, quality and security gates — and you make them enforceable as checks rather than as documents people are asked to remember. Qualify the technology: You are the technical half of every intake decision — viability, risk class, build versus reuse, and the effort band behind each business case. Set the delivery standard: You define the patterns, quality gates and acceptance criteria that both the delivery squads and the client's own suppliers work to — so the standard scales far beyond the people you can staff. And you engineer the cost: model routing by task, quota design, and the telemetry that turns token spend into a defensible unit cost. What You'll Bring You are more than a good architect — you build the thing, then make it someone else's default. You are drawn to problems new enough that no reference architecture exists yet, and you can hold your own in an enterprise security review the same week you ship a prototype. You also bring: At least 5 years in software architecture and cloud-native engineering, with technical range beyond a single stack. Hands-on LLMOps experience: gateways, retrieval architectures, agent frameworks, evaluation harnesses, observability — built and operated, not only evaluated. Security and identity thinking applied to agents: non-human identities, credential scoping, least privilege, auditability. The ability to translate between audiences — the same decision explained to an engineering team, a security officer and a CFO, without dumbing any of the three down. Hands-on mentality combined with the discipline to write things down well enough that others can follow them without you in the room. Experience in regulated industries, ideally financial services, is a strong plus. Very good Spanish (min. C1) and English (min. C1). Based in Madrid, with willingness to travel within Spain and occasionally across Europe.
