🚀AI Engineer (Remote) Full-Time
Build, Ship, and Scale AI for Games.
We are a fully remote team of 40 people building and publishing mobile games played by millions of players around the world.
At APPS, we believe AI will fundamentally change how games are built, operated, marketed, and analyzed. We want to be early—not just by experimenting with new technologies, but by turning them into real products and tools that improve how our teams work.
We are looking for an AI Engineer with a strong software engineering background who can explore the latest developments in Generative AI, quickly turn promising ideas into working prototypes, and take the best ones further into reliable, scalable solutions.

⭐ What We Expect From You (Responsibilities)
You will play a key role in shaping how AI is used across APPS, working primarily with our Product and Data teams, while also collaborating with Growth and Finance.
- Build AI Products & Internal Tools: Develop AI-powered applications, tools, and workflows that improve game development, content production, data analysis, marketing, and internal operations.
- Prototype Rapidly: Turn new ideas into functional prototypes and MVPs within short development cycles, validate their potential, and iterate quickly.
- Move from Prototype to Production: Take successful experiments beyond demos by building reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions that can be used by the team in real workflows.
- Explore New AI Technologies: Continuously evaluate emerging LLMs, multimodal models, image/video generation technologies, AI agents, frameworks, and developer tools.
- Evaluate, Not Just Experiment: Compare models and approaches based on output quality, latency, reliability, scalability, and cost to determine what actually works for our use cases.
- Integrate AI Systems: Build integrations between AI models, APIs, internal services, data sources, and existing company tools.
- Drive AI Adoption: Identify opportunities where AI can meaningfully improve existing workflows and work directly with teams to implement them.
- Share Knowledge: Prepare practical tutorials, demos, documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions to help Product, Data, Growth, and Finance teams effectively use new AI technologies.
🛠️Key Skills We Are Looking For
Software Engineering
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally 3+ years, building and shipping real software products.
- Strong proficiency in Python and the ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals including APIs, backend services, data structures, debugging, testing, Git, and software architecture.
- Experience building applications that integrate multiple APIs, services, databases, or external systems.
- Ability to independently take an idea from concept to a working product.
Applied AI & Generative AI
- Hands-on experience building applications using Large Language Models and Generative AI APIs.
- Strong understanding of concepts such as prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, embeddings, RAG, AI agents, and model evaluation.
- Interest in and practical understanding of multimodal AI, including text, image, audio, and video models.
- Ability to evaluate different models and technologies objectively instead of simply following the latest trend.
- Experience working with both hosted AI APIs and open-source models is a strong plus.
Product & Execution
- A strong builder mindset: you enjoy turning ideas into working software rather than stopping at research or experimentation.
- Ability to move quickly without sacrificing software quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working on open-ended problems where the solution may not be obvious at the beginning.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical team members.
- High level of ownership, curiosity, and self-direction.
➕ Nice to Have - Experience in any of the following would be a plus, but is not required:
- AI-powered developer tools or internal tooling
- Agentic workflows and automation systems
- Image or video generation pipelines
- AI evaluation and observability systems
- Cloud infrastructure and deployment
- Data engineering or ML pipelines
- Mobile games or game development
- Unity or game production workflows
Game industry experience is not required. Strong software engineering skills combined with curiosity about games and applied AI are more important to us.
