About The Role

We're looking for an exceptional AI Engineering Lead to help define the future of AI-native software development.

This is not a conventional engineering leadership role. You'll own two critical areas:

• Lead an AI-first software development lifecycle by orchestrating AI coding agents and establishing scalable engineering processes.
• Build intelligent, production-ready AI capabilities into our platform using LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.
  
  

You'll work closely with the founders and have the opportunity to shape both our engineering practices and our AI product roadmap.

What You'll DoAI-Native Engineering

• Lead AI-agent-driven software development from specification to deployment.
• Build and optimise engineering workflows using AI coding assistants and autonomous development tools.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, deployment standards, and code quality practices.
• Develop repeatable playbooks, prompts, and documentation for AI-assisted development.
• Continuously improve engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity.
  
  

AI Product Development

• Design and build production-grade LLM applications using Google Vertex AI (Gemini).
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and multi-agent workflows.
• Build intelligent document processing, evidence extraction, and AI-powered risk assessment capabilities.
• Create evaluation frameworks to monitor hallucinations, drift, accuracy, latency, and cost.
• Implement responsible AI practices including auditability, privacy, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  
  

Technical Leadership

• Work across our technology stack:
• Node.js / Express
• Angular 18 / TypeScript
• MongoDB Atlas
• Redis
• Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI)
• Ubuntu Linux
• nginx
• Drive production reliability, incident response, monitoring, and continuous platform improvement.
• Partner with leadership to define the long-term AI roadmap.
  

What We're Looking ForRequired

• 6–10 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience building production LLM applications.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Prompt Engineering
• RAG
• Embeddings
• Function Calling
• AI Agents
• Structured Outputs
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot Workspace, Devin, Manus, or similar.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, Linux, REST APIs, system design, and secure engineering practices.
• Experience with Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI.
• Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.
• Startup mindset with strong ownership.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience in GRC, TPRM, Cybersecurity, FinTech, or regulated industries.
• MongoDB encryption and security best practices.
• OCR, Document AI, and PDF processing.
• LLM evaluation frameworks such as LangSmith or Langfuse.
• Prior Tech Lead or Engineering Manager experience.
• Open-source contributions or AI technical content.
