AI Social Media Content Intern

Are you an undergraduate creator who has been experimenting with AI video tools and wants to turn that curiosity into real-world experience? Do you follow what is happening in the AI content space and have ideas about how it connects to culture and politics? Vocal Media is looking for an AI Social Media Content Intern to support our growing team of Social Media Managers in producing and publishing AI-generated content across TikTok and Instagram Reels. This is a hands-on role where you will learn the tools, workflows, and strategies behind high-volume AI content production while contributing to accounts with real audiences and real impact. Responsibilities Content Support Assist in producing short-form AI-generated videos for TikTok and Instagram Reels using tools like HeyGen, Higgsfield, ElevenLabs, and CapCut Help source and develop content ideas rooted in AI trends, news, politics, and culture Write and edit captions and post copy that match each account's voice and platform style Support scheduling and publishing across multiple AI-themed accounts Learning and Research Track emerging AI tools, trends, and platform algorithm updates and share findings with the team Research relevant news and cultural moments to inform content calendars Assist in monitoring basic performance metrics and flagging what is working Collaboration Work closely with Social Media Managers and content leadership on weekly priorities Participate in team check-ins and contribute ideas to content strategy discussions Support cross-account initiatives as needed What We Are Looking For Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student, preferably in communications, media, marketing, political science, or a related field Genuine interest in AI-generated content and familiarity with at least one GenAI video tool (HeyGen, Higgsfield, ElevenLabs, CapCut, or similar) Active presence on TikTok and/or Instagram with an eye for what performs Interest in progressive politics, social justice, or advocacy and how AI intersects with those conversations Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment Portfolio, class projects, or personal content examples are a plus but not required What You Will Gain Hands-on experience with professional AI content production workflows Exposure to social media strategy, account management, and performance analysis Mentorship from an experienced team working at the intersection of AI, media, and advocacy A portfolio of real published content to take with you Vocal Media is committed to developing leaders, policies, and a team culture that embraces diversity and enhances equity.
