We are seeking an AI Software Engineer to support the development and modernization of a large-scale Java-based Immunization Information System (IIS). This role combines strong software engineering skills with AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and drive innovation across healthcare technology solutions. Your role in our mission Design, develop, and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications and REST APIs. Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and CodeX to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and code reviews. Develop configurable workflows, business rules, reporting, and user-facing functionality. Create and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests. Collaborate with Product, QA, Architecture, and Business teams to deliver healthcare and public health solutions. Participate in modernization initiatives and adoption of AI-driven engineering practices. Ensure code quality, security, performance, and maintainability. What we're looking for 5+ years of experience in Java application development. Strong experience with: Java, Spring Boot REST APIs SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL) JavaScript/TypeScript Git and CI/CD pipelines Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, CodeX, Claude etc.). Knowledge of software design patterns, testing frameworks, and secure coding practices. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Healthcare, Public Health, Medicaid, or IIS systems. Knowledge of HL7/FHIR interoperability standards. Experience with configurable or metadata-driven application frameworks. Familiarity with cloud-native development and DevOps practices. We will accept applications on an ongoing basis The pay range for this position is $97,300.00 - $139,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
