Position Summary The Alarm Licensing Specialist is responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and managing alarm company licenses throughout the United States. This position is intended to satisfy regulatory and licensing requirements in multiple states by serving as the company's designated Qualified Manager, Responsible Managing Employee (RME), Qualifying Agent, or equivalent qualifying individual, where permitted by law. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's continued compliance with state and local alarm licensing laws while supporting expansion into new jurisdictions. This individual will serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert on alarm licensing, regulatory compliance, and licensing administration, and will provide guidance in the development of company training programs, operational policies, and compliance procedures. This is a part-time position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time leadership role as the company's licensing portfolio and regulatory responsibilities continue to expand. What You’ll Do (Essential Duties) Serve as the company's Qualified Manager, Responsible Managing Employee (RME), Qualifying Agent, or equivalent designated individual for alarm company licenses in multiple states, as permitted by applicable laws and regulations. Meet and maintain all qualification requirements necessary to serve as the designated licensing qualifier in applicable jurisdictions. Research, prepare, submit, and manage alarm company license applications, renewals, amendments, and regulatory filings throughout the United States. Maintain all company licenses in good standing by monitoring renewal deadlines, continuing education requirements, insurance requirements, background requirements, and regulatory changes. Act as the primary liaison with state licensing boards, regulatory agencies, and governmental authorities. Assist with obtaining new licenses as the company expands into additional states and municipalities. Maintain comprehensive licensing records, compliance calendars, and regulatory documentation. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting the alarm industry and recommend operational changes necessary to maintain compliance. Advise executive leadership regarding licensing strategy, regulatory risks, and expansion into new jurisdictions. Develop, implement, and maintain licensing policies, compliance procedures, and standard operating procedures. Serve as the company's subject matter expert on alarm licensing laws, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices. Provide technical and regulatory input for employee training materials, licensing manuals, compliance programs, and company policies. Assist with internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews. Collaborate with executive leadership, operations, legal/compliance, human resources, and sales to ensure regulatory compliance across all business activities. What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications) Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in one or more of the following: Alarm system sales, Alarm system installation, Alarm monitoring, Alarm company operations. Candidates with more than two years of relevant industry experience are strongly preferred . Must possess the knowledge, experience, and qualifications necessary to serve—or become eligible to serve—as the company's designated Qualified Manager, Responsible Managing Employee (RME), Qualifying Agent, or equivalent licensing qualifier in multiple jurisdictions, subject to state-specific requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of alarm industry operations and regulatory compliance. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to research, interpret, and apply state statutes, administrative rules, and licensing regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems. Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of alarm industry experience. Previous experience serving as a Qualified Manager, Responsible Managing Employee (RME), Qualifying Agent, or similar licensing qualifier. Experience obtaining and maintaining alarm licenses in multiple states. Experience working directly with state licensing boards and regulatory agencies. Compliance management or regulatory affairs experience. Experience developing employee training, operational policies, and compliance manuals. Knowledge of corporate registrations, Secretary of State filings, and business licensing requirements. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of the alarm industry and understands the regulatory framework governing alarm companies throughout the United States. They are capable of serving as the company's licensing qualifier in multiple states, maintaining compliance with diverse regulatory requirements, and supporting the organization's continued national growth.
