As an AML Sanctions Analyst Sr within PNC's Real Time Solutions organization, you may be based remotely in the Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, Laredo, TX, McAllen, TX, Tampa, FL or Rocky Mount, NC markets. This position may not be available in all geographic locations. The Senior AML Sanctions Analyst is responsible for reviewing and investigating financial transactions, primarily wire transfers, to identify potential sanctions-related risks and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role performs detailed sanctions screening reviews, conducts name and entity matching analysis, and determines whether transaction parties, countries, vessels, or other associated entities represent a true match or false positive against sanctions lists. The ideal candidate has experience in wire processing operations, queue-based transaction review environments, and managing high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards within a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities • Review domestic and international wire transactions for potential sanctions concerns involving individuals, entities, countries, vessels, and other sanctioned parties. • Analyze alerts generated through sanctions screening systems to determine whether matches represent true sanctions concerns or false positives. • Perform detailed list comparison analysis by evaluating transaction information against applicable sanctions lists and identifying potential matches. • Conduct due diligence and research using available tools, systems, and external resources to support alert disposition decisions. • Document investigative findings, rationale, and decision-making in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements. • Manage a queue-based workflow environment, reviewing transactions on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis while meeting established service level agreements. • Process multiple alerts and transactions simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Escalate complex or high-risk sanctions concerns to senior leadership or compliance partners as appropriate. • Collaborate with internal business partners, operations teams, and compliance stakeholders to resolve sanctions-related inquiries. • Remain current on sanctions regulations, industry trends, and emerging financial crime risks. • Support audit, regulatory examination, and quality assurance requests as needed. • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and risk mitigation efforts. Qualifications • Experience working in a high-volume, queue-based processing environment. • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to compare transaction details against sanctions screening results. • Ability to distinguish true matches from false positives through effective research and due diligence. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and compliance-related systems. • Experience reviewing wire transfers and other payment transactions for compliance or risk concerns is a plus The hours for this position will be Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM until 11:30 PM (training Monday - Friday 1:00 PM until 9:30 PM) This position may be eligible for remote work in select geographic locations, subject to approval by PNC. If approved, work must be conducted from a quiet, secure, and confidential home-based workspace. Occasional in-office participation may be required based on business needs. Job Description Assists in analyzing the implementation of enterprise wide and business unit Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions Programs to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper business practices. Assists in the execution and oversight of activities to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, AML, USA PATRIOT ACT and Sanctions Program requirements. Developing ability to constructively challenge conclusions/status quo. Update AML and Sanctions policies and procedures as needed. Ensure that Compliance Manuals, Front Office Manuals, policies and procedures accurately reflect current laws, rules, other regulatory requirements and management intent. Independently challenges analyses, reviews and recommendations. Identify and define the AML and Sanctions objectives for assigned line(s) of business, products/services and applicable regulations. Communicate and socialize those objectives (from a leadership position) to the business. Coordinate AML and Sanctions compliance monitoring and oversee preparation of compliance reports. May serve as a resource regarding AML and Sanctions compliance impact on overall business activities, product development and customer activities. Collects information and provides input used to prepare AML and Sanctions compliance reports and/or customer risk profiles. Identifies issues, recommends corrective action plans and escalates through proper governance channels as needed. Analyzes assessments of AML and Sanctions risk and internal controls. Researches AML and Sanctions regulatory developments. Understands impact of regulatory developments and begins to anticipate steps required to change or calibrate AML and Sanctions internal controls and policies. Supports key business initiatives by identifying AML and Sanctions Compliance risks and providing resolutions to manage these risks.
