Analyst, Data Science

We’re looking for a technically minded and curious Analyst, Data Science to join our Pricing & Analytics team. Someone who enjoys solving complex problems, has a passion for coding and automation, and can turn data and modelling into practical insights that support better pricing decisions. As an Analyst, Data Science, you’ll play a key role in delivering advanced data science and modelling solutions across our insurance business. You’ll work closely with pricing teams and business stakeholders to maintain and continuously improve our risk and demand modelling frameworks, develop scalable modelling solutions, and help turn complex technical concepts into actionable pricing strategies. What you’ll do: Develop, maintain, and improve pricing risk and demand models Use data science, statistical modelling, and machine learning to support pricing decisions Improve modelling frameworks, automation, and analytical processes Partner with pricing teams and stakeholders to understand needs and deliver practical modelling solutions Provide technical support and share modelling and coding best practice across the team What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Studies, or a related quantitative discipline Experience coding in a programming language, with a strong interest in developing advanced R skills Strong analytical, statistical, problem-solving, and data science capabilities Understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning, and techniques commonly used in insurance pricing Passion for coding, automation, and continuous improvement Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders A collaborative, curious, and proactive approach to learning and problem-solving Why You'll Love Working at Suncorp: Joining Suncorp means more than just a job, it's an opportunity to build a rewarding career with a company that genuinely invests in your success.
