Position Overview
Coalfire is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Analyst, FP&A to join the Financial Planning & Analysis team. This role will provide critical support across the FP&A function, helping the team manage financial planning, reporting, headcount, and business analysis that drive performance and informed decision-making across the business.
Reporting to Director, FP&A, this position is designed to take on accuracy-driven work that underpins effective business partnering, headcount reporting and reconciliation, spend tracking, data entry and compilation, quality review, and recurring financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, and eager to grow their FP&A career in a fast-paced professional services environment. Prior experience in a consulting, technology, or professional services firm is a strong plus. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated analyst looking to develop deep expertise in FP&A and financial management within a growing cybersecurity company.
The role requires a professional who can operate effectively as a trusted and dependable colleague on the FP&A team willing to work at a fast pace and take direction. As the candidate evolves in the role, one can expect future involvement in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting. This individual will also support the broader FP&A function through participation in forecasting cycles and CFO-level reporting to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and investors.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
– 2 years of experience in Accounting, FP&A, financial analysis, or a related finance role.
– Strong Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data reconciliation.
– High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
– Ability to manage multiple recurring deliverables under tight turnaround timelines.
– Clear communication skills and ability to work across time zones in a remote environment.
– Professional English proficiency (written and verbal).
Preferred
– Experience supporting consulting, technology, or professional services business.
– Familiarity with services economics concepts: utilization, billing rates, cost of sales, gross margin.
– Experience with ERP, PSA, or BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Power BI, Adaptive).
– Exposure to FP&A processes including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Headcount Reporting & Reconciliation
– Assist with or “team lead on” headcount data gathering, reconciliation, and reporting, ensuring accuracy between HR systems, finance models, and management reports.
– Track headcount movements (hires, departures, transfers, role changes) and maintain up-to-date headcount schedules for use in forecasting and P&L management.
– Support month-end close processes by reconciling headcount-driven costs against actuals.
Spend Tracking & Cost Support
– Monitor and reconcile vendor, subcontractor, and operational spend, flagging variances against budget and forecast.
– Maintain spend trackers and support FP&A Managers in analyzing cost components including direct and indirect spend.
– Partner with Accounts Payable and relevant business teams to ensure accruals and cost allocations are accurate and timely.
Forecasting Support
– Assist in the compilation and maintenance of forecasting inputs, including revenue, cost, and headcount data gathered from business systems.
– Support FP&A team members in preparing and updating financial models during weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecast cycles.
– Identify data discrepancies across source systems and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
– Assist in the preparation of recurring financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses supporting monthly business reviews.
– Assist in the preparation of management reporting packages and supporting schedules used by FP&A leadership and the CFO.
– Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and data pulls to support business questions, forecasting, and planning cycles, as requested.
– Support preparation of materials for Board, investor, and executive leadership reporting as directed.
