ABOUT THE JOB The DataEQ Analyst Team is an exciting group of passionate and detail-oriented insights experts who believe in the value of social media as a source of actionable business insights. We are looking to hire a senior insights analyst to fulfil a team lead position. We require someone who is first and foremost a great analyst. Someone who can take on in-depth, ad hoc and advanced reports, who critically engages with the brief and the data, and is confident to ask questions and make suggestions. Beyond this, the person will form part of the management team who collaborate to drive processes, advance methodology and guide team advancement and morale. The individual needs to be a self-starter but also someone who works collaboratively. The analyst will provide clients with insights to inform strategic and operational interventions for a range of business use cases, from customer experience to governance. Our clients are leaders in a range of diverse industries including, financial services, telecommunications, and retail. Using DataEQ’s proprietary platform, the analyst will compile reports based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of social media data. Our analysts work closely with account directors and directly with clients, to develop research briefs and present their report findings. Internally, analysts consult with a methodological eye on a variety of business projects and client solutions. Our analysts are talented connectors of quantitative and qualitative consumer, competitor and market data, and are skilled at contextualising and communicating insights, verbally and visually. Our environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, so you'll also need to manage your time in a way that balances time for thinking, with time for execution, and be willing to learn a lot as you go. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY-TO-DAY Using our proprietary software, you’ll analyse, segment, visualise and interpret social data into monthly, weekly, quarterly and annual reports, typically in PowerPoint format. Creating compelling data stories, leveraging our core products to deliver informative, actionable insights. Using AI in a responsible and supportive manner, to help overcome bottlenecks, extract accurate insights and ensure well-polished reports. Presenting report findings to clients Thinking about unique ways to report on our data Weighing in on methodological components of reports, offering insight into how to improve existing measures where necessary Partnering with internal DataEQ stakeholders to drive wider business objectives. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Required: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including Social Sciences, Economics, Marketing or Arts Excellent English skills, both spoken and written Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience writing reports for corporations is an advantage Strong understanding of social research methods, including probability distributions, causation, variance, sampling, and social statistics A strong track record of working under pressure to deadlines Attention to detail and the ability to identify and communicate trends is a key competency for this role An understanding and interest in data visualisation and storytelling Curiosity and drive to understand and explain real-world phenomena and trends Previous experience in a corporate or related field is highly advantageous, but not required The ability to present to senior-level stakeholders Experience in managing people WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING WITH US If you join our team, DataEQ will support you at work and at play.
