Analytics Engineer (Remote)

We're hiring an Analytics Engineer (South Africa, remote).

CoSauce is building out the customer-data foundation for a Canadian software client, and we need someone to own it.

Right now their view of their own customers is scattered across the product platform, support tickets, Salesforce, product telemetry and a long tail of spreadsheets. "Which accounts are at renewal risk?" is a question that currently takes manual assembly, and the answer is hard to trust twice.

Your job is to fix that: centralise product, commercial and lifecycle data in Databricks, agree the definitions the business runs on (GRR, NRR, churn, client health, renewal risk), and push explainable signals into Salesforce where Customer Success and Account Management actually work. You will build the platform rather than produce reports.

The stack: GCP, Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows), PySpark, Python, SQL, Salesforce as the activation layer, and Claude plus agentic workflows as a normal part of how the team ships.

What we're screening hardest on:

- At least 2 years in analytics or data engineering, 4+ preferred

- Strong SQL, the kind where you model data rather than just query it

- Hands-on PySpark shipped in production

- Practical Databricks (Delta tables, jobs, Workflows)

- Software engineering habits: Git, code review, CI/CD, infrastructure as code

- Real fluency with AI coding assistants, including knowing where to verify them

Nice to have: dbt, Salesforce data models, SaaS retention metrics, a payments or B2B SaaS background.

Two things worth being upfront about. It's fully remote within South Africa, and it needs a daily overlap of roughly 3pm to 7pm SAST because you'll be in the client's standups. That part isn't flexible.

You'd work directly with the stakeholders whose questions you're modelling, with no layers in between.
