What You’ll Do: The Anti-Money Laundering Specialist assists in the development and implementation of all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) program to ensure compliance with the requirements of the BSA, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), and USA PATRIOT Act. Through the direction of the AML/CFT Officer, this role performs the daily responsibilities of the BSA program to ensure the credit union remains compliant, including reviewing, analyzing, submitting, and tracking information using industry standards and regulatory guidance. In addition, this position will review and recommend improvements to the program's policies, procedures, risk assessments, and disclosures, ensuring they contain the necessary components as outlined in regulatory guidance and are effective for the credit union. Our Commitment To You: Compensation: Eau Claire Market: $75,400 - $86,700 annually. St. Croix Valley/Minnesota Market: $80,600 - $99,700 annually. This is an exempt-level, salaried position. What’s Needed For This Position: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, along with at least three years of experience working within a financial institution and one year of direct AML/CFT program experience. Strong knowledge of BSA regulations, AML requirements, OFAC compliance, and financial institution operations, practices, and processes is required. Advanced analytical, investigative, and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify suspicious activity, evaluate complex account and transaction patterns, make sound decisions, and effectively solve problems in a highly regulated environment. Exceptional organization, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment. Strong written, verbal, interviewing, and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare reports and business correspondence, communicate regulatory requirements clearly, answer questions from various audiences, and serve as a trusted compliance resource. High attention to detail, strong customer service focus, and proficiency using technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other digital tools. Ability to learn new technologies, perform complex tasks, and work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Certification in, or the ability to obtain, a AML/CFT -related designation (such as BSACS or ACAMS) and the ability to be bondable. We’d Love To See: Certification in a AML/CFT -related designation such as BSACS, ACAMS, or a similar anti-money laundering/compliance credential. Work Schedule/Location: Full-Time salaried position; Hours will generally be Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with occasional evening and weekend hours, as needed. This position is part of Royal's workplace flexibility program and has the ability to be hybrid after approximately 2-4 months of training and proficiency in the position. When not working remote, the office location is flexible at either the Corporate Office in Eau Claire, WI, or at a Royal Minnesota office based on office availability and candidate preference. This position requires residency within Royal’s office footprint Training: Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
