Apparel Designer
Our client, a global leader in athletic and lifestyle apparel, is seeking an Apparel Designer to support a high-profile streetwear apparel team. This role is ideal for a designer who combines strong creative instincts with excellent technical execution and has experience developing apparel from concept through product creation.The Apparel Designer will partner with cross-functional teams to bring apparel concepts to life through detailed design work, technical documentation, and product development support. The ideal candidate has experience creating and updating tech packs, developing apparel sketches and CADs, and collaborating with product development teams in a fast-paced environment.
The Basics
- Title: Apparel Designer
- Location: Beaverton, OR
- Schedule: Hybrid, 4 days onsite and remote on Fridays
- Duration: 3 months
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 1+ years of experience in apparel product design
- Experience creating, updating, and maintaining apparel tech packs
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
- Experience developing flat sketches, CADs, and apparel specifications
- Understanding of garment construction, fit, materials, trims, and color application
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
- Portfolio showcasing apparel design work, including sketches, flats, and tech packs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in streetwear, lifestyle, sportswear, or fashion apparel
- Experience with 3D design tools such as CLO, Vizcom, or similar platforms
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Miro, and Keynote
- Experience working on men's and/or women's apparel collections
Key Responsibilities
- Create apparel designs across a variety of product classifications, from seasonal capsules to high-volume franchise products
- Develop detailed tech packs and product documentation for apparel programs
- Update existing product files and implement design revisions as directed by the design team
- Create CADs, flat sketches, and technical drawings to support product development
- Collaborate closely with design, technical development, product management, materials, and sourcing teams
- Support prototype reviews and fittings to ensure design intent is maintained throughout development
- Present design concepts and revisions to internal stakeholders
- Translate consumer insights and design direction into commercially viable apparel solutions
- Assist the broader apparel design team on additional projects as needed
- Ensure deliverables are completed within established product creation timelines
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
