Apprentice - Data Analytics

Apprentice – 6 months duration The apprentice will support analytics and insight generation for Amex Offers and Digital Media Analytics, contributing to offer adoption, revenue growth, merchant engagement, customer relevance, and operational effectiveness. Launched in 2012, Amex Offers is a digital advertising platform that connects Merchants and brands with tens of millions of American Express Card Members across the globe. The Amex Offers team develops strategic marketing partnerships that deliver differentiated value for Merchants and Advertisers, enabling them to reach high-spending Card Members in the digital channels where they engage with American Express. The Apprentice Program offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in analytics, digital media, merchant marketing, risk management, and business problem solving while working alongside experienced professionals. Apprentices will support ongoing Amex Offers and Digital Media Analytics projects, learn how data drives business decisions, and contribute to initiatives that enhance Card Member, merchant, and business outcomes. The role may support Amex Offers Marketing Analytics and partner teams across Marketing, Product, Membership, and Control Management priorities in India. Develop an understanding of the American Express business, Amex Offers platform, merchant ecosystem, products, and Card Member journey. Analyze business, merchant, offer, and customer data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights. Support Amex Offers and Digital Media Analytics through performance monitoring, problem-solving, targeting, and process improvement. Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and structured recommendations for Marketing and partner teams. Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and other LLMs to enhance research, analysis, productivity, and content creation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on analytics and business initiatives, clearly communicating insights and recommendations. Build proficiency in data tools and analytical techniques to develop scalable solutions and improve offer, merchant, and customer outcomes. Business Outcomes: Translate business questions into structured analysis and actionable insights. Identify trends, opportunities, and practical improvement ideas from data. Manage multiple assignments with ownership, responsiveness, and quality. Deliver clear, high-quality reports, analyses, and presentations. Minimum Qualifications: 0-11 months of internship, academic project, or work experience Graduate in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Management, or similar disciplines Expertise in SQL Basic analytical and problem-solving skills. Good working knowledge of MS Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Strong verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar LLM-based applications. Preferred Additional: Prior academic projects, certifications, or coursework in analytics, AI, data science, business analysis, statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, or related fields. Exposure to dashboards, visualization tools, or business storytelling (Tableau/Power BI) through academic, internship, or project work. Interest in merchant marketing, customer analytics, digital media, offer performance, or risk management.
