Apps & Configuration Specialist (Workday Extend)

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid – approximately 50% onsite)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Apps & Configuration Specialist with strong Workday Extend development expertise to join a collaborative enterprise applications team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding and enhancing a large-scale Workday environment while working on innovative solutions that support Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and Student services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom applications using Workday Extend
• Build and support integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, REST/SOAP APIs, and Workday Web Services
• Develop orchestration workflows and optimize enterprise integrations
• Configure, maintain, and support the Workday platform, including releases, security, and tenant management
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues while providing Tier 2/3 support
• Create technical documentation and share knowledge with team members
• Stay current with new Workday features and recommend platform improvements
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and support project delivery

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise application development or ERP implementation experience
• Hands-on Workday Extend development experience in a production environment
• Strong experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday integrations
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, and web services
• Knowledge of Workday data model, business processes, security, and orchestration
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to an agile team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Workday Extend, Studio, or Workday Pro certifications
• Experience across multiple Workday modules (HCM, Finance, Payroll, or Student)
• Higher education or large enterprise environment experience
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, source control, JIRA, ServiceNow, or ITIL
• Experience mentoring developers or leading technical initiatives
