Adult Protective Services (APS) Lead Supervisor Location: Remote (Indiana residents preferred; candidates residing in other states may also be considered) Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, Regular Business Hours Pay Range: $68,000 - $72,000 annually Work Environment: Remote / Virtual Position Summary Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO), an affiliate of Public Consulting Group (PCG), is seeking an experienced Adult Protective Services (APS) Lead Supervisor to support the Indiana Bureau of Better Aging (BBA). Adult Protective Services (APS) protects endangered adults who may be experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation by assessing reported concerns, evaluating risks to health and safety, conducting investigations, and connecting individuals to critical services and supports. The APS Lead Supervisor serves as a key member of the project leadership team and is responsible for overseeing and supporting APS Supervisors and investigative staff across the program. This position ensures successful onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing development of investigators and supervisors while maintaining compliance with project requirements, service level agreements (SLAs), and established investigative protocols. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the APS Lead Supervisor provides subject matter expertise on complex investigations, supports quality assurance activities, monitors productivity and case outcomes, identifies process improvement opportunities, and collaborates with project leadership, partner agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with extensive investigative experience, exceptional critical thinking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Development Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and performance management to APS Supervisory staff. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, team meetings, annual evaluations, and performance reviews. Support onboarding and training efforts for newly hired investigators and supervisors. Monitor training progress and ensure required milestones are achieved. Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for investigative staff and supervisors. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment. Operational Oversight Monitor project-wide productivity and performance throughout the investigative lifecycle. Ensure compliance with project service level agreements (SLAs), timelines, and quality standards. Identify operational risks and proactively communicate concerns to project leadership. Develop and implement corrective actions to address missed deadlines and process gaps. Support continuous improvement initiatives through the review of performance metrics, trends, and team feedback. Quality Assurance & Compliance Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure adherence to APS policies, procedures, and investigative standards. Evaluate case documentation and work products for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Assess team performance related to investigative practices, documentation, and decision-making. Recommend process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and client outcomes. Investigative Support Provide consultation and guidance on complex investigations involving abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Support investigators in case planning, risk assessment, evidence gathering, and case resolution. Assist with filing protective services orders and other interventions when appropriate. Ensure proper application of investigative tools, protocols, and best practices. Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, law enforcement agencies, social service organizations, and other stakeholders. Participate in community outreach and partnership-building efforts to strengthen support networks for APS clients. Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure coordinated service delivery and positive client outcomes. Required Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff. Strong understanding of investigative practices related to abuse, neglect, exploitation, adult services, or social services. Experience planning, conducting, and supporting complex investigations. Ability to analyze information, identify risks, solve problems, and make sound recommendations. Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment in a fast-paced environment. Experience developing collaborative case strategies and working with healthcare, social service, investigative, or law enforcement agencies. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for diverse populations. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Preferred Experience Three (3) or more years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Three (3) or more years of experience in one or more of the following: Adult Protective Services (APS) Child Protective Services (CPS) Social Services Human Services Investigations Case Management Law Enforcement Community-Based Services Experience conducting quality assurance reviews, audits, or compliance monitoring activities. Experience managing remote or geographically dispersed teams. Education Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Work Expectations Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Ability to maintain a dedicated, secure home office environment. Reliable high-speed internet connection required. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or project-related activities. Why Join SSO?
