Job Title: Architectural Designer Job Description The Architectural Designer supports project architects and project managers on healthcare-focused and corporate interior projects, with an emphasis on design development and construction documentation. This role is a step below Project Architect and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to complex projects while working closely with experienced architecture and interior design leaders. Responsibilities Collaborate with production staff architects and project architects on healthcare projects and corporate interiors, contributing to the overall design and documentation process. Participate extensively in the Construction Administration phase, including reviewing drawings and specifications, responding to RFIs, and supporting coordination with consultants and contractors. Support the Design Development phase by refining design concepts, preparing detailed drawings, and ensuring design intent is accurately documented. Develop and maintain high-quality construction documentation using Revit, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards. Produce architectural documentation and renderings that clearly communicate design intent to internal teams and external stakeholders. Use Revit Architecture software regularly to model, document, and coordinate project information throughout various phases of design. Contribute to healthcare-related projects such as hospitals and other medical facilities, applying knowledge of healthcare design principles when applicable. Work on corporate interior projects in collaboration with a separate studio, supporting design and documentation needs as assigned. Maintain a polished, up-to-date portfolio and be prepared to clearly explain your role, responsibilities, and contributions on past projects. Collaborate in a highly team-oriented environment, sharing ideas and information and supporting a culture of inclusion and ownership across all experience levels. Manage deadlines and support timely delivery of project milestones within typical project durations of 6–18 months. Engage in ongoing professional development by working under and learning from established architecture and interior design leaders in the local community. Essential Skills 2–5 years of professional experience in architecture. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Strong proficiency in Revit, including regular, hands-on use for design, documentation, and coordination. Experience producing construction documents and construction documentation. Experience supporting construction administration activities. Ability to work effectively in design development phases. Ability to create clear architectural documentation and renderings. A polished portfolio that showcases relevant architectural work and demonstrates the ability to discuss project details and personal contributions. Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and project experience. Attention to detail and commitment to meeting project deadlines. Work Environment The work environment is highly collaborative and inclusive, promoting shared ownership of projects across all levels of experience. Team members work closely together in an open office layout where everyone, including principals, sits in an open studio setting. Desks, drawers, and workstations are designed to be interchangeable, encouraging teamwork and the easy sharing of ideas and information. There are dedicated areas for private calls to support focused work when needed. The culture emphasizes collaboration, inclusion, and meeting deadlines. The office serves as a headquarters with a staff of approximately 70–80 people and is part of a broader network of offices in other major cities. The firm has a long-standing presence in healthcare design and is known for being on the cutting edge of modern design. The dress code is business casual. Work is currently fully remote until further notice, with the option in the future to remain remote, work in a hybrid arrangement, or work full-time in the office. Most projects last between 6 and 18 months. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Philadelphia, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
