About The Role

Brooksource is hiring on behalf of Hilton Grand Vacations, a leading vacation ownership company, for an AI Engineer to support delivery of AI initiatives across a newly formed, enterprise-wide AI/Data Science group.

This is a contract opportunity to join a fast-moving team where you'll build and deploy AI-driven applications end-to-end on Databricks. You'll work in small cross-functional "pods," rotating across initiatives that span Marketing, Sales, and C-suite priorities, and partner directly with the hiring manager and subject matter experts to take proofs of concept from local development into production.

About the Team

You'll be joining a newly formed AI/Data Science group within HGV, spun up in a fast-moving, enterprise-wide capacity. This team doesn't sit under one department — on any given day you could be supporting Marketing, Sales, or direct C-suite initiatives. The team operates in a "pod" structure: an AI Engineer, a subject matter expert, and sometimes a Data Engineer working together on an initiative from concept through proof-of-concept and testing, using Scrum/Kanban sprint cycles.

HGV (a 35+ year company in the timeshare/vacation industry) is investing heavily in AI and technology, and this team is at the center of that push.

What You'll Do

• Build and develop applications in local/dev environments, then deploy them into Databricks production environments
• Work through the full lifecycle: proof of concept → demo → test period → as-needed fixes during testing (not ongoing production support — that hands off to the engineering team)
• Collaborate directly with leadership to incorporate feedback and enhancements
• Rotate between initiatives sprint-to-sprint — one project might run two weeks, the next a full sprint, with new stakeholders and environments each time
• Work autonomously once ramped, pulling tasks from a prioritized backlog with clear requirements, asking questions as needed rather than guessing

What You Need (Required)

• Hands-on Databricks experience — must have deployed Databricks applications end-to-end in a production environment. This is the single most important qualification; without it, other skills won't offset it.
• Ability to write and clearly explain your own code (not just AI-generated output)
• Comfort working independently with minimal oversight after a short ramp-up period (a few weeks)
• Ability to work Eastern Standard Time hours
• Bachelors Degree

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Python and/or SQL
• Prior exposure to machine learning / data science concepts (understanding of algorithms)
• Familiarity with RAG-based LLM applications (a plus, but not a major use case for this team currently)
• Experience with Cursor (or similar AI coding assistants — tool-specific experience is easily transferable, so background with Claude, Copilot, Gemini, etc. is also fine)

Ideal Candidate Profile

More senior candidates welcome (10+ years experience, including overqualified candidates) — this person may also help mentor and train up less experienced offshore/GCC team members as part of the role.
