Title: Assessment and Accreditation Officer, SOE VP Area: School of Education Department: Education Dean's Office Work Schedule: Fixed daytime hours Monday-Friday Telework Availability: Remote Eligible FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employee Classification: Regular part-time (staff <29 hours) Hours per week: 20 Months per year: 12 Job Purpose: The Assessment and Accreditation Officer will provide support and leadership to all departments in the School of Education in assessment and evaluation of programs and strategic initiatives. The Assessment and Accreditation Officer will sustain overall assessment, accreditation, and reporting for the School of Education. This position is essential for the quality assurance of programs and depicting the School of Education to the University and outside agencies. Essential Functions: 45% - Data and Assessment Administration Manage integration of assorted assessment components into a single, efficient system including administration of multiple platforms and data collection systems. Manage all matters related to state and national standardized and licensure testing. Administrate systems for collection, recording, and distribution/reporting of NES, WEST-B, WEST-E, Praxis, edTPA, and ACTFL scores. Administrate web-based assessment system. Oversee the design, build, and deployment of online assessments and other data collection tools. Coordinate with school districts to provide online access to assessment system for University Supervisors and students. Review assessment instruments and work with stakeholders to adapt instruments as needed in support of accreditation standards and requirements. Facilitate sharing of data with students, faculty, administrators, and the larger professional community. 45% - Accreditation and Annual Report Assist the Dean in creating and maintaining overall quality assurance system for the School of Education (SOE). Collaborates with the Program Assistant & Reporting Systems Specialist to ensure consistent collection, analysis and reporting of all data required for compliance with the Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) to maintain program approval for teacher, counselor, and administrator certification programs. Is the representative from Gonzaga University SOE to the Washington State Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) for certification program accreditation through program compliance and work with the National Educational Research Data Center (EDRC). Manage accreditation and outside agency reports in compliance with the agency standards, coordinates the report with the departments, and is responsible for SOE unit content, formatting, editing, and submitting reports. Review data for validity and reliability and conduct tests for validity and reliability as needed. Coordinate processes for gathering and presenting data to meet state and national accreditation requirements. Prepare and submit required reports and evidence. Create and maintain an electronic exhibit room. Manage and submit reports related to evolving standards and learning outcome requirements. Stay abreast of updates and changes directly related to state learning and teaching standards that need to be integrated into the unit assessment system. Prepare annual reports for various agencies (SOE Annual Report, PESB, Title II, NWCCU, Canadian Ministries, etc.). Prepare SOE Magazine for university distribution. Help ensure that student learning outcomes and program goals are linked to assessments that meet NWCCU accreditation standards. Work with unit and program administration to prepare for accreditation visits and ongoing continuous improvement. Identify and assist with implementing improvements in the School of Education's data resources and report production processes. Follow-up on departmental and program assessment action plans. Approves folders/documents permitted for storage in the SOE Global Assessment System (GAS). Coordinate data review and analysis for program planning and continuous improvement. Serve as administrative support to the SOE Rank, Reappointment, and Tenure Committee confirming and verifying notebook content and the digital content. Additional Duties as Assigned by the Department Educational Requirement: Master's Degree Years of Related Experience Requirement: 5 years In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education. Skills & Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated time management, punctuality, and priority setting skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and regulations High analytical capability, with ability to identify issues, compare data, and resolve discrepancies Preferred Qualifications: Terminal Degree in a field that is related to Education An understanding of accreditation for education programs in higher education settings at local, state, and national levels Proficiency with Watermark web-based assessment systems Advanced knowledge of Banner, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Hyland OnBase, and electronic survey software Physical & On-Campus Requirements: In-Office Presence - Ability to work on-site in typical office setting and participate in in-person meetings with colleagues: N/A - Remote Standing/Sitting - Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period: Often (50%-75% of time) Walking - Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks: Rarely (1%-49% of time) Lifting/Carrying - Ability to move or transport objects up to a specified weight (e.g., 50 pounds): Rarely (1%-49% of time) Attention to Detail - Ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods: Daily (>75% of time) Problem-Solving - Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively: Daily (>75% of time) The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position: $34.27 - $38.07 per hour Pay Range: Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): 34.27 Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): 42.83 Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): 51.40 Is this position eligible for relocation reimbursement?: No Is this position eligible for a signing bonus?: No At this time, the University has suspended all new H1B visa sponsorships.
