Assistant Accountant

About the role: We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role provides an excellent opportunity for an accounting graduate or early-career finance professional to gain broad exposure across financial operations in a global organisation. You will support the Finance team with transaction processing, reconciliations, month-end activities and financial administration while developing your accounting knowledge and technical skills. Responsibilities Include: Uploading payments across multiple banking platforms and entities. Processing and reconciling accounts receivable transactions. Matching security receipts within NetSuite and Accelo. Completing bank reconciliations across multiple entities and bank accounts. Importing and processing employee expense reimbursements and corporate credit card transactions. Assisting with month-end close activities and journals. Maintaining the fixed asset register and related reconciliations. Supporting compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements and regulatory obligations. Working closely with the Financial Controller and Senior Accountants on a variety of finance projects and initiatives. About You: A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management skills. A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence learning new systems.
