The Opportunity We are seeking an Assistant Commercial Accountant to join our Business & Industry (B&I) sector in North Sydney. Reporting to the Associate Business Partner, you will play a key role in delivering commercial and financial support across a diverse portfolio. This role is ideal for a commercially minded accountant looking to build on their financial analysis, reporting and stakeholder management experience within a large and dynamic organisation. There is a strong possibility for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries and P&L analysis Prepare and distribute monthly management reports and financial insights Partner with operational and business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve financial performance Manage invoicing processes, payment follow-ups and contract-related queries Prepare contract price escalations and contractual variations Maintain contract databases and ensure information accuracy Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Support quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and ad hoc commercial analysis Drive continuous improvement initiatives across commercial processes About You Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline Currently studying towards or completed CA/CPA qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial accounting environment Strong financial analysis and reporting skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously Positive, proactive and team-oriented approach Desirable: Experience using Oracle accounting systems Previous experience within a large corporate environment Why Join Us?
