The Assistant Dean for External Education provides administrative oversight for Cornell Law School’s international programs, executive education, and the Master of Science in Legal Studies (MSLS) degree. Duties include: In collaboration with the Academic Director, overseeing the development and implementation of the MSLS degree program, including coordinating faculty, communicating with students, admitting students, liaising with eCornell on marketing and other activities, and coordinating intensive seminars in Ithaca or at the New York Tech campus. Providing leadership and direction for the international dual-degree programs with foreign universities, specialized international degree programs: JD/LLM and JD with Specialization in International Legal Affairs (JD/ILA), and study abroad programs for JD students. Negotiating memoranda of understanding, exchange, and other agreements with partner institutions and prospective partner institutions around the world. Providing strategic leadership in identifying and developing executive education opportunities in collaboration with faculty, aligning offerings with institutional priorities and market needs. Leading partnerships with campus stakeholders and eCornell to develop and expand online learning offerings. Providing leadership and direction to External Education staff, establishing priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring effective delivery of the programs. Developing annual budgets and supervising accounts for all External Education programs. Providing senior-level oversight of stakeholder engagement across all programs, serving as the primary institutional contact for students, faculty, and partners. The Assistant Dean will also collaborate with a variety of Cornell units, including eCornell, the Einaudi Center, the Office of the Vice Provost for International Relations, the Office of University Counsel, and Risk Management. Ability to form positive relationships and collaborate with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff, as well as cultivate an inclusive environment where a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives is welcome. Strong time management skills with an ability and willingness to adjust to changing priorities on very short notice as well as the ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
