Hiring Agency Cabinet for Health & Family Services | Department for Medicaid Services Location 275 East Main Street Frankfort, KY 40621 USA The agency may authorize the selected applicant to telecommute on a hybrid schedule. Description The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) provides health care access for eligible low-income residents of Kentucky including children, families, pregnant women, the aged and the disabled as well as a number of programs and services directed at specific eligibility and medical needs. DMS strives each day to meet the mission of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to be a diverse and inclusive organization providing programs, services and supports that protect and promote the health and well-being of all Kentuckians and their communities. The Division of Health Plan Oversight is responsible for administering and overseeing key healthcare programs that serve Kentuckians. The Division's responsibilities include Medicaid eligibility, oversight of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) through contract monitoring and compliance, appeal reviews, and administration of the Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange. The Assistant Director II provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for regulatory compliance and managed care initiatives. This position serves as a key member of the leadership team in the Division of Health Plan Oversight, directing cross-functional collaboration, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, and advancing organizational objectives through effective policy development, stakeholder engagement, and program oversight. Write and review office policy guidance memos to staff or other business partners. Review and certify Qualified health plans Participate in the design of documents and comment as appropriate to clarify policy or functionality of the system. Represent the office at various internal and external meetings by making presentations, conducting training sessions, etc. Supervise and support the Appeals and Complaints Branch and Contract Monitoring Branch. Provide assistance to other divisions with various related issues (complaints, appeals, outreach events, etc.). Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, management, or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
