Job Function: Administrative oversight and direct management of the NCAA Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT), as well as general coordination and assist with planning and execution of the Division I Women's Basketball Championship. Additional administrative women's basketball project and core service duties, as assigned. Job Responsibilities Administrative oversight of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). Administrative oversight and direct management of all aspects of the tournament, including budget, all coordination, planning and execution of the event with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), all hosts site representatives, broadcast partner, officiating program, and others. Serve as the staff liaison to the WBIT Board of Managers, facilitating communication, relationship management, and follow-up on board priorities and action items in addition to meeting coordination, agenda development, preparation of meeting materials, supplements, meeting reports, etc. Manage all WBIT Selection Committee related business including but not limited to the selection process, preparation of agendas, supplements, meeting reports, automatic qualifier information, etc. Develop and disseminate pertinent and educational information to internal and external constituents. Includes manuals, memorandums, letters, certificates, bid information, reports, officials, committee, coaches' associations and other individuals, participating teams, site representatives, vendors, contractors, equipment suppliers, etc. Serve as staff liaison to preliminary round hosts and on-site for the tournament. Serve as staff liaison to various key constituents such as the internal finance department regarding budgets for the WBIT, women's basketball staff and men's basketball NIT counterpart, designated tournament broadcast partner and national coordinator of officials. Administrative Support of the Division I Women's Basketball Championship and other women's basketball initiatives. Serve as a key team member and assist with planning and execution of the Division I Women's Basketball Championship, as assigned. Work directly with Women's Basketball Vice President and Director to coordinate all arrangements for committee administration including coordination of meetings and videoconferences, material development, presentations, reports and oversight of collaboration zone management, scheduling, annual service awards, meeting reports, etc. Management of the championship failure to adhere to policy and misconduct process. Serve as the primary liaison to the NCAA Executive office, assisting in pre-event planning and coordinating on-site logistics for the NCAA President's attendance at the Women's Final Four. Serve as primary liaison to NCAA Research and NCAA IT (e.g., technology initiatives) for women's basketball related projects. Serve and provide secondary support to the national officiating program for women's basketball. Serve and provide secondary support to the Women's Basketball Oversight Committee Playing Rules Subcommittee. Oversight of women's basketball membership communications (e.g. schools, conferences) in collaboration with NCAA Communications as appropriate and department presentations and collateral support development. Manage the updating of the women's basketball information on NCAA.org and the NCAA intranet site. Provide support for women's basketball initiatives and projects. Support the management and execution of the NCAA Women's Basketball strategic priorities. Facilitate Women's Basketball Coaches Association related partnership obligations. Serve as on-site administrator Division I Women's Basketball Championship. Provide support to the Director and Vice President of Women's Basketball. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education Required: Bachelor's degree required; Advanced Degree Preferred. 2 - 4 years experience in athletics administration. 3+ preferred. Basketball operations, equipment and event management experience preferred. Excellent organizational, administrative and communication skills. Operating knowledge of Windows based software including PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Ability to work with little or no supervision, quickly and under pressure. Ability to balance multiple responsibilities, including independent ownership of projects. Willingness to assess processes and systems in order to explore continuous improvements, creativity and insight in order to implement new processes to improve efficiency. Estimated Travel Required: <30% This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 2 days in the office and 3 days are remote.
