Role Description The Assistant IT Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure and services. This position includes overseeing daily IT operations, assisting with system administration, monitoring network performance, and coordinating technical support for internal stakeholders. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts and permissions, and supporting data backup, security, and compliance initiatives. The Assistant IT Manager will also help document IT processes, collaborate on technology improvement projects, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members to ensure reliable and secure systems.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in IT support and system administration (e.g., user account management, hardware/software troubleshooting, basic server and network monitoring).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security practices (such as firewalls, VPNs, access control, and data protection techniques).
• Ability to work with common operating systems and productivity tools (Windows, macOS or Linux, cloud-based collaboration platforms, and ticketing systems).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills for diagnosing issues and maintaining clear technical records.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to support remote teams and explain technical concepts in accessible terms.
• Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently in a remote environment.
• Relevant education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in a technology or services-focused organization and familiarity with emerging IT tools and trends is beneficial.
