Job Title: Assistant Underwriter – Italian Speaking Location: London Reports To: Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Underwriter to support our underwriting team in assessing risk and administering insurance policies. Fluency in Italian is essential, as the role involves communication with Italian-speaking clients or partners. Key Responsibilities Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications and assessing risk exposure Prepare and review policy documentation, endorsements, and renewals Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather necessary information Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within underwriting systems Support the underwriting process by analysing data and producing reports Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting guidelines Handle general administrative duties related to underwriting operations Provide excellent customer service, including responding to queries in a timely manner Skills & Experience Essential: Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Fluency in Italian (spoken and written) Desirable (Non-Essential): Previous experience in the insurance industry or underwriting environment Understanding of insurance principles and risk assessment Experience working with underwriting systems or databases Personal Attributes Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload Professional and adaptable with a willingness to learn High level of integrity and attention to confidentiality What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Training and development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment Career progression within the underwriting function We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
