The position requires creative actuarial capabilities, good communication and interpersonal skills, and organizational talents. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Lead Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage bid pricing and forecasting Present results to and participate in strategic discussions with clients Provide strategic guidance to local and regional health plans around evolving impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act and other regulatory and market forces Perform analysis of healthcare data Write reports that explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience Manage projects through completion within an expected budget Supervise actuarial students in the completion of technical aspects of actuarial projects Employees will be expected to develop the ability to manage client relationships. While not required, employees that learn to successfully generate new business with both new and existing clients are likely to experience the greatest career growth. To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications: Professional Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field ASA designation 10+ years of healthcare actuarial experience, including: Three or more years of experience with Medicare Part D, including bid development Experience with Medicare Advantage Experience with commercial programs preferred, but not required Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences Strong understanding of the US healthcare system Advanced proficiency with Excel Working knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R Personal Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on client satisfaction Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach Preferred Qualifications Bid Certification Experience with R and/or Python Experience with PowerBI Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future. Location This position is based out of the Milliman office in Seattle, WA. It is preferred that this employee work in-office, but remote candidates anywhere in the US will be considered. This job posting is expected to close on August 17, 2026. Compensation The overall range for this role is $100,400 - $208,380. For candidates residing in: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the range is $115,460 - $208,380. All other locations the range is $100,400 - $181,200. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. Employees are also eligible for a bonus under our standard bonus policy. Paid bonus is dependent on billable hours worked by and work managed by the employee. Actual bonuses vary widely based on desired and completed workload but often exceed 30% of base salary.
