Clyde & Co US LLP is seeking a litigation attorney to join our growing Seattle office. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside accomplished litigators on sophisticated, high-exposure matters in one of the firm's fastest-growing offices. Our Seattle team represents insurers in complex first-party and third-party coverage disputes and bad faith litigation. This practice is particularly known for handling large-scale environmental, toxic tort, and mass tort coverage matters, including disputes involving substantial exposure and multi-party litigation. Attorneys on this team work directly with clients, develop litigation strategy, and gain meaningful responsibility on significant matters from the outset. The team also advises insurers on a broad range of coverage issues arising under commercial, environmental, property, homeowner, and automobile insurance policies. What You’ll Do Participate in all phases of complex litigation, from case inception through resolution, including trial preparation and trial support. Collaborate directly with partners and clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, coverage analysis, and case management. Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents. Assist with insurance coverage analysis, coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and bad faith matters. Work on sophisticated insurance coverage disputes, including environmental, toxic tort, and mass tort claims. Engage with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders. Attend and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings. Take an active role in managing matters, developing litigation strategy, and maintaining strong client relationships. We’re Looking for Someone Who Is admitted to practice in Washington or Oregon and is in good standing with the applicable state bar. Possesses strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Demonstrates exceptional organizational and time-management abilities. Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage competing priorities. Has strong problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment. Is motivated to take ownership of matters and work directly with clients. Has experience with, or a strong interest in, insurance coverage, bad faith, environmental coverage, and complex commercial litigation. The salary range for this position is dependent on the level at which the candidate is hired: Associate: $135,000 – $190,000 Senior Associate: $170,000 – $225,000 Senior Counsel: $200,000 – $250,000 The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
