Tech Pipeline helps operations teams identify and repair the friction points that stall their business processes. We are currently bringing on an Associate Data Analyst to support an engagement with our client, a regional logistics provider, as they work to fix a reporting pipeline that has become unreliable. This is a full-time, fully remote position focused on tracing data errors back to their origin and establishing a clean source of truth.
About the role The core of this role is finding out why the numbers on a screen do not match the reality in the warehouse. Our client has grown quickly, and their current tech stack is struggling to keep up, leading to data drifting between their inventory management and their finance systems. You will spend your time digging into the middle of these processes to see where records are getting stuck in email chains or failing to sync correctly. This is a remote role that requires a high level of focus and a practical approach to troubleshooting. You will not be building abstract models: instead, you will be looking at specific routing rules and integration logs to ensure that every transaction is accounted for and correctly reconciled.
What you will be doing
Reading system logs to identify why specific data entries are failing to move between platforms.
Comparing records across different databases to find the exact point where numbers begin to drift.
Documenting existing routing rules and identifying where they conflict with current operations.
Cleaning messy datasets to help the client transition away from manual spreadsheet reconciliations.
Drafting clear, step-by-step instructions for client operators to ensure data is entered correctly at the source.
Assisting our senior team during the first month of live operation to verify that our fixes are holding up.
Participating in daily asynchronous updates to track progress on backlog reduction and system cleanup.
What we need from you
Basic familiarity with SQL and the ability to write simple queries to pull information from a database.
Strong proficiency in spreadsheet software, including the use of basic formulas and data cleaning techniques.
Clear, direct writing skills for documenting technical processes and explaining problems to non-technical users.
A methodical approach to work that prizes accuracy over speed when investigating errors.
Willingness to learn how specific business tools like ERPs and CRM systems handle data.
The ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining consistent communication with the team.
A genuine interest in understanding how a business actually functions from the ground up.
Helpful background
Exposure to logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations through previous work or studies.
Basic knowledge of Python or another scripting language for automating repetitive data tasks.
Experience working with project management tools to track tasks and report on progress.
Previous experience in a role that required high attention to detail, such as bookkeeping or inventory management.
What the role offers
This is a paid position with competitive compensation that reflects the importance of the work.
A fully remote work environment that allows you to work from wherever you are most productive.
The opportunity to gain deep, hands-on experience with how enterprise data systems actually function.
Mentorship from technical specialists who focus on practical solutions rather than high-level theory.
Direct exposure to the operational challenges of a growing regional business.
A work culture that values documentation and clear communication over unnecessary meetings.
Working at Tech Pipeline We believe that the best work happens when people have the time to concentrate and the information they need to succeed. At Tech Pipeline, we avoid the heavy meeting schedules that often clutter a workday. Instead, we rely on thorough documentation and weekly written updates to keep everyone aligned. Our goal is to leave every client with a system they can manage themselves, which means we put a lot of effort into making our fixes simple and our documentation easy to follow. We are a remote-first team that values technical curiosity and a grounded approach to solving problems. We look for people who are more interested in why a specific line of data is wrong than in discussing broad industry trends. Our focus is always on the logs, the config, and the people who use the systems every day.
