Sr Manager/Assoc. Director - Strategic Partnerships & Accounts
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr Manager/Associate Director to lead Strategic Partnerships & Accounts for our biopharma and biotechnology clientele. This role combines account management, enterprise selling and business development to build and sustain high-value, long-term partnerships focused on translational research and commercial outcomes. The successful candidate will define account strategy, drive revenue growth, coordinate cross-functional teams, and act as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients while performing market and competitive analysis to shape pricing and corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for enterprise biopharma and biotech customers, aligning solutions to translational research and commercial priorities.
- Own the end-to-end relationship with assigned strategic accounts, including stakeholder mapping, opportunity identification, and executive engagement.
- Lead enterprise selling efforts: build proposals, structure deals, develop pricing strategies, and negotiate commercial terms to accelerate revenue and partnership impact.
- Collaborate with R&D, product, clinical, and operations teams to translate scientific and translational research needs into tailored solutions and programs.
- Drive new business development by identifying expansion opportunities, upsell/cross-sell initiatives, and long-term partnership models.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market segmentation to inform account strategies, territory planning, and corporate strategy decisions.
- Partner with management consulting and corporate strategy teams to design value propositions, ROI models, and pricing frameworks for strategic accounts.
- Manage forecasting, pipeline reporting, and KPI tracking for strategic accounts; report progress to senior leadership and recommend course corrections.
- Mentor and influence internal teams and junior account managers to improve account execution, customer satisfaction, and delivery excellence.
- Represent the company externally at industry meetings, conferences, and customer workshops to strengthen relationships and elevate brand presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred (MS, PhD, MD, MBA) in a relevant discipline.
- 4+ years of experience managing enterprise accounts, strategic partnerships, or business development in biopharma, biotechnology, or related life sciences sectors
- Demonstrated success in enterprise selling and account management with large biopharma or biotech customers, including negotiating complex deals and pricing structures.
- Experience working with translational research programs, clinical R&D stakeholders, or technology platforms that support drug discovery and development.
- Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, or competitive analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in market segmentation, competitive intelligence, and building ROI/value models.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver outcomes in matrixed organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation and workshop facilitation experience.
- Comfortable with travel and flexible engagement with customers; strong project and time management skills.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and building long-term strategic partnerships.
