The Journal of Injury & Illness Prevention in Sport (JiiPS) is a gold, open-access journal dedicated to advancing research in sports medicine, athlete health, injury epidemiology, prevention, and rehabilitation. The journal is committed to a publishing process that is faster, fairer, and more transparent for both authors and reviewers. By prioritizing open access and rigorous editorial standards, JiiPS supports evidence-based practice and innovation in sports injury and illness prevention.

As we expand, we are seeking Associate Editors to help support the peer review process and contribute to the continued growth and development of the journal.

We are particularly interested, although not exclusively, in individuals based in Asia, Africa, and Australasia, as well as those with expertise in:

• Sports Medicine

• Biomechanics

• Health Statistics

Qualifications

• Strong background in sports medicine, athlete health, injury prevention, epidemiology, rehabilitation, or a closely related field.
• Experience with academic publishing, peer review processes, and editorial decision-making in scholarly journals.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to evaluate scientific manuscripts for clarity, rigor, and relevance.
• Familiarity with research methodologies, study design, and ethical standards in clinical and sports science research.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple submissions, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Proficiency with online manuscript management systems and standard office software tools.
• Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MD, DPT, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and transparent, fair treatment of authors and reviewers.
