We are seeking an Associate Vice President (AVP), Insurance to lead the performance, growth, and operational effectiveness of an insurance portfolio, with a primary focus on Integris Insurance Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coastal Community Credit Union. What’s the Role? Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Insurance, the Associate Vice President (AVP), Insurance is responsible for the performance, growth, and operational effectiveness of an assigned insurance portfolio, with a primary focus on Integris Insurance Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coastal Community Credit Union. Providing leadership to Agency Managers, the AVP plays a key role in executing divisional strategies, strengthening business performance, and supporting the long-term success of Coastal Community's insurance operations. This role is accountable for business development, client experience, employee engagement, financial performance, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a high-performing, client-focused culture that drives sustainable growth and long-term success across the agency network. Your duties will include (high-level summary): Participates in the development and execution of divisional strategies, operating plans, budgets, and key initiatives that support organizational objectives. Develops and executes regional growth strategies that support business performance, client relationship growth, and divisional priorities. Identifies market opportunities, competitive trends, and business development initiatives to expand client and member relationships. Builds and maintains strong internal and external partnerships to support business growth, community connections, and referral opportunities. Provides leadership, coaching, development, and succession planning support to Agency Managers and agency teams. Creates and sustains a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture aligned with Coastal Community's values and strategic priorities. Accountable for financial, sales, service, and client experience results across the assigned portfolio. Supports leaders in analyzing performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing action plans to strengthen results. Ensures consistent execution of sales, service, and client experience standards across all agencies. Oversees operating expenses and promotes effective financial management within approved budgets. Ensures agency operations comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, including audit readiness and remediation activities. Leads continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service delivery, business performance, and client outcomes. Represents Coastal Community within the community and insurance industry through networking, relationship-building, and business development opportunities. What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree considered an asset. Level 3 General Insurance License required. Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB), or equivalent industry designation preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience within the financial services industry or a related field, including at least five (5) years in a leadership role. Experience leading multiple locations, business units, or management teams. Demonstrated success developing leaders, driving business growth, and achieving operational and financial objectives. Strong knowledge of personal and commercial insurance operations, products, services, and regulatory requirements. Strong understanding of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and local markets. Proven ability to influence business outcomes through strategic planning, coaching, collaboration, and execution. Experience leading teams through change, growth, and organizational transformation initiatives. Ability to build strong strategic relationships and collaborate effectively across business lines. Career Band Range (Annual Salary) - $123,821.00 - $144,458.00 The posted salary range is designed to reflect a broad career band, encompassing a variety of roles within our organization and serves as a general guideline.
