Athena EMR Administrator

About the Role

The client is migrating its practice management and EMR system to Athena as it

prepares to open additional offices. We need a dedicated Athena EMR Administrator to own the

configuration, integrity, and day-to-day performance of the system through go-live and beyond, so the

clinic's growth is never bottlenecked by a misconfigured or unsupported system.

Primary Goal

Configure and maintain the Athena system to ensure optimal use today and scalability as Foreviva

opens additional office locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up appointment types and pricing accurately across all services and locations — configuration

errors here directly risk revenue loss, so precision matters.

• Serve as the front-line technical resource for Athena issues, troubleshooting problems for clinic staff

during California business hours.

• Train clinic staff on the system in the lead-up to go-live, ensuring the team is confident and

self-sufficient on day one.

• Maintain system configuration on an ongoing basis as the practice adds services, providers, or

office locations.

• Serve as the clinic's primary liaison with Athena support and the implementation team during

onboarding.

Required Qualifications

• Must already be trained and certified on the Athena EMR platform. This is non-negotiable: Athena

requires a trained administrator on the account before the clinic is permitted to go live, so prior

hands-on Athena configuration experience is mandatory, not preferred.

• Demonstrated experience configuring appointment types, pricing/fee schedules, and provider or

location setup within Athena.

• Comfortable troubleshooting independently and communicating clearly with non-technical clinical

staff.

• Available and responsive during California business hours (Pacific Time).

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting a multi-location medical or aesthetic practice through an EMR migration or

go-live.

• Familiarity with cash-pay/concierge medical practice billing workflows.Logistics
