Job Description This is a remote position. Permanent AU Dayshift, Remote/WFH Philippines AU Tax & SMF Accountant - with Xero, MYOB, Handiledger & Handitax Company background: AU Accounting 0 tax and smsf Tasks: tax preparation Working hours: Between 9am-5:30pm VIC VA Rate: $9-12 AUD per hour (Negotiable) Fulltime at 40 hours weekly Target start date: asap Position Summary The Tax Preparation Specialist provides key support to the finance team in maintaining accurate and timely financial records. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role will help in design and implementation of tax policies and strategies, and evaluate managerial processes to ensure compliance. Key Responsibilities ● Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly management accounts and financial statements ● Process journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy ● Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis (management accounting / reporting) ● Maintain and update the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules ● Prepare BAS, IAS, PAYG,tax return for individual, company, trust and payroll tax returns ● Assist with end-of-year financial processes and external audits ● Ensure compliance with ATO and regulatory requirements ● Generate financial reports and analysis for senior management ● Liaise with internal teams, external auditors, and stakeholders ● Contribute to process improvement initiatives and financial system upgrades Skills and Qualifications ● Degree in Accounting or related field ● Minimum 5 years of accounting experience ● Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards ● Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills ● Ability to work both independently and in a team environment ● Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines and compliance ● Experience in Handiledger and Handitax is a MUST ● Experience in Xero and xero tax (must) and MYOB (plus) Desirable Attributes ● Experience with Australian tax compliance ● Familiarity with financial reporting requirements for various business structures ● Commitment to professional development and accuracy in reporting Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with clients and stakeholders
